Tottenham striker Robbie Keane insists under-fire boss Martin Jol has the full backing of the players after Monday's thrilling 4-4 draw with Aston Villa.
Spurs came back from 4-1 down and Keane said the spirit shown by the players demonstrated their respect for Jol.
"He has the support from everyone - he's shown what a good manager he is over the past few years," said Keane.
But Jol conceded the result would not necessarily end speculation over his future, with Spurs third from bottom.
Tottenham's indifferent start to the Premier League season, after they spent heavily during the summer transfer window, has led to Jol coming under increasing pressure.
"I've thought about my future for the last six weeks so it's nothing new," said Jol.
"I think about my future because I want to be better and better."
Keane, deputising for the injured Ledley King as captain of Spurs, said the fightback against Villa showed that team spirit was not an issue.
"We're going through a bit of a sticky patch at the moment," stated Keane.
"To come back from 4-1 down is unbelievable. We showed lots of character - that is what we have in this team.
"You should have seen our manager at the end when we scored the goal."
Jol said he was delighted with his team's second-half response after going into the break 3-1 behind.
"It was a relief in the end. I don't even want to think about if we had lost," he said.
"At half-time we told the players they have to play for the shirt and give everything - and they did that.
"I am happy for the fans that there was a sort of celebration."
Spurs had paraded former players and managers before kick-off to mark the club's 125th anniversary and Jol was pleased that his side managed a positive result in the end.
"It was a night about football. I don't want to think about negative things," he added.
"It's not about results or the league, it's about the celebration. 
"We spoiled that. It was awful to concede the goals like we did.
"But my family are all in the marines and a commander never leaves his troops. If he does that he's lost.
"I kept my head cool and they have to do it. The only thing I can do is make substitutions."
Villa boss Martin O'Neill says he expected a Tottenham fightback.
"I would never think it's all over," O'Neill said. "We knew Tottenham would throw absolutely everything at us, with nothing to lose.
"At 4-2, it seemed that we saw off that part of the storm but I've seen it happen before.
"Naturally, we're disappointed. We could have gone fifth and it was a nice incentive but I hope we learn from it. I'm upbeat but disappointed for the travelling fans."

Tottenham manager Martin Jol has warned the Spurs board it would be a mistake to end his tenure at White Hart Lane.
Speculation continues over Jol's position at Spurs, despite their 2-0 Carling Cup win over Middlesbrough.
Jol told BBC Radio 5live: "The fans know how difficult it is if they change management again, they know you could easily go back for years.
"I hope people are realistic - you can get anyone in the world to come, but to do better you must finish fourth."
Jol's position has come under heavy scrutiny after a poor start to the season, with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy moving to deny reports that he and Jol had agreed a compensation package on Tuesday.
Jol continued: "The speculation isn't a nice position to be in, but I can't do anything about it.
"The continuity is important - we were fifth two years in-a-row, I don't think anybody else could do any better.
"The continuity of the club is important and we did that here with my staff over the last couple of years.
"We won a lot of points, had nine wins in Europe and got back into Europe via the league, which probably didn't happen for 25 years or so.
"So the fans realise and they appreciate my work and that is a good feeling."
Spurs have had a dismal start to their Premier League campaign, picking up only five points from seven games, but Jol was delighted after seeing them beat Boro with goals from Gareth Bale and Tom Huddlestone.
"I thought we played very well, it was a very good performance, though not particularly better than we have been playing," he added.
"We created four or five chances in the first half and more in the second, but if you don't kill opponents off then you must always be wary."
Jol's decision to take off Jermain Defoe with 21 minutes left was greeted with boos by the White Hart Lane faithful and the striker reacted angrily.
But Jol says the decision was vindicated as his replacement Robie Keane went on to set up the first goal.
"People care about Jermain, I care about him as well," said Jol. "But I took him off to try and change the game and sometimes it comes off, sometimes it doesn't - this time it did.
"At the end everybody is happy because we won but it's not what you want, because I feel more for the people coming on than Jermain, because he had his chance today.
"He was sharp and he will be important in the future as Dimitar Berbatov will be and Darren Bent as well - though Darren was kept on the bench and will not be happy.
"But Robbie Keane is always very good as a substitute as well, he's proved that in the last couple of years that he can change games and he did it again."
Tottenham 1-3 Arsenal
Emmanuel Adebayor scored twice as Arsenal came from behind to beat north London rivals Tottenham.
Gareth Bale curled in a 15th minute free-kick to put Spurs ahead before Paul Robinson twice denied Adebayor.
Abou Diaby hit the bar as Arsenal pushed on, then Dimitar Berbatov was thwarted by a last-ditch Kolo Toure tackle and Adebayor blazed over.
Arsenal equalised when Adebayor nodded in before Cesc Fabregas' drive put them ahead and Adebayor volleyed a third.
But for long spells it had seemed Arsenal's profligate finishing would lead to Spurs beating their neighbours for the first time in 17 attempts - particularly as there was no such wastefulness from Bale, who took advantage of Manuel Almunia's poor positioning to whip a free-kick into the bottom corner.
But then time and again, Spurs' defence - which included fit-again Michael Dawson for the first time this season - was cut open by the visitors' quick, incisive passing.
As well as the two Adebayor efforts - the first tipped over by Robinson and the second beaten away by the England keeper - Arsenal's Alex Hleb also wasted a good first-half chance.
Fabregas, influential throughout, stormed through the midfield before releasing Adebayor, whose clever lay-off found Hleb in a central position.
But his shot was parried by a well-positioned Robinson, whose confidence had clearly been restored after his two clean sheets for England.
However, he should have picked the ball out of the net after Diaby was played in by Hleb but the Arsenal midfielder rifled his shot aganst the bar from eight yards.
As the half wore on, though, Tottenham began to settle.
Striker Berbatov floated a teasing cross for Robbie Keane but the Republic of Ireland star was ruled to have handled the ball as he tried to control it.
After the break, Berbatov should have doubled Spurs' lead when he raced through on goal and rounded a stranded Almunia, who had left his area, but the Bulgarian attempted to trick Toure rather than shoot into an unguarded net and was dispossessed.
Yet if that was a bad miss, Adebayor quickly edged ahead in the miss-of-the-match stakes as he blasted over from eight yards following a great run and pull-back by Bacary Sagna.
The game then entered a period of niggling challenges, flared tempers and players squaring up to each other.
Perhaps that unsettled Tottenham - and fired up Arsenal.
And when Fabregas' free-kick came in from the right - after the Spaniard had been fouled by Steed Malbranque - Adebayor finally demonstrated he has a striker's touch by powerfully heading home.
The hosts responded well and Berbatov had a shot cleared off the line by Gael Clichy.
But Tottenham suffered a crushing blow when Fabregas set his aim from distance and crashed in a fierce strike to put Arsenal ahead for the first time.
Spurs then had a great chance to even things up again but substitute Darren Bent scuffed his shot horribly wide when clear through on goal.
And, remarkably, there was still time for Arsenal to score a third goal when Adebayor flipped up the ball on the edge of the box, swivelled and crashed a magnificent volley into the top corner.

"We should have killed them off but we didn't take our chances.
"We should have scored to go 2-0 up and then conceded from a set-piece but at 1-1 we had a good opportunity and then at 2-1 down we had two good chances.
"We took the game to them and created chances. But they were clinical and that was the difference."

Jenas to stay at Spurs until 2012
Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas has signed a new five-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2012.
Jenas, who cost £7m when he signed from Newcastle in 2005, enjoyed a good campaign last year, scoring eight goals despite two months out through injury.
The 24-year-old told the club website: "Spurs have the calibre of squad that any player would want to be part of.
"The spirit in the squad is terrific, the club is ambitious and undoubtedly moving forward."
Jenas, capped 17 times by England, added: "I feel I still have a lot of potential to develop further and playing alongside team-mates of this quality will help me do that.
"I am very happy here and would love to stay at Tottenham for the rest of my career."
Manager Martin Jol added: "JJ has made a big contribution over the last two seasons and he is improving as a player all the time.
"His goals from midfield are a vital ingredient for us and he is already off the mark this season.
"I am delighted he has committed his future to the Club because JJ has so much talent and is such a positive player.
"He always wants to learn and that is the right mentality to have, he wants to prove that he is a top player and the sky is the limit for him."
