England Under-21 got their Euro 2009 qualifying campaign off to a good start against Montenegro in Podgorica.
Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha opened the scoring with a header after Steven Taylor and Gabriel Agbonlahor combined to set him up following James Milner's corner.
Agbonlahor, who scored against Chelsea for Aston Villa last weekend, extended the lead after collecting a pass from Theo Walcott.
stoppage time
Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart saved from Marko Cetkovic and Simon Vukcevic as the home side pressed, but highly-rated Southampton midfielder Andrew Surman sealed the win when he tapped home in stoppage time on his debut for the under-21 side.
England's next match is in Bulgaria on Tuesday as they continue their bid to reach Sweden 2009.
