Altrincham's on-loan Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Russell Saunders has had his stay at Moss Lane ended by injury.
The 18-year-old suffered a thigh injury on his Altrincham debut last week, with scans now confirming that he will be out for between six and eight weeks.
Saunders was signed on a month's loan to cover for injuries but Richard Acton has now recovered and is likely to face Crawley Town on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Altrincham have released ex-Gretna striker Matthew Berkeley, 20.
Berkeley had made just three substitute appearances in the Blue Square Premier this season.
