Portsmouth defender Sol Campbell has signed a new two-year contract.
The 32-year-old, whose current deal was due to expire at the end of the season, is now set to remain at Fratton Park until the end of the 2008-09 season.
Campbell has made 36 appearances for Pompey since joining from Arsenal at the end of season 2005-06.
The former Tottenham centre-back was recently recalled to the England squad before injury ruled him out of Steve McClaren's plans.
Team captain Campbell was happy to have settled on an agreement with the club.
"I'm delighted to have signed a new contract," he told the club website.
"It's dragged on a bit but everything's been resolved. There's always a bit of speculation around the transfer window but thankfully that's over now and I can just concentrate on playing football.
"The club's moving forward with a talented squad and plans for the new training ground. The club is certainly going in the right direction."
