Folan recovering from head injury

Hull's £1m record signing Caleb Folan spent a "comfortable night" in hospital after suffering a head injury in the Tigers defeat at Blackpool.

Folan, 24, was stretchered off wearing a neck brace following a collision with Blackpool defender Kaspars Gorkss.

The match was held up for 10 minutes while he was treated by paramedics.

Folan was detained overnight for observation at Blackpool's Victoria Hospital, where his condition will be reviewed on Tuesday.

The former Wigan striker was initially knocked unconscious by the collision, which also forced Latvian Gorkss off with blood pouring from a deep cut.

Hull boss Phil Brown was concerned enough about Folan that he went on to the pitch while the striker was receiving treatment.

Brown said: "It was very worrying. He appeared to be unconscious for a couple of minutes but he was talking as they led him out of the ground on a stretcher."

To add insult to Folan's injury, Blackpool scored a winner in the sixth minute of time added on for Folan's injury.
