Derby County's Craig Fagan has been charged with violent conduct in relation to an incident involving Liverpool's Alvaro Arbeloa.
During Derby's 6-0 defeat at Anfield on Saturday 1 September Fagan appeared to step on Arbeloa's leg, but it went unseen by referee Alan Wiley.
Fagan has until 1800 BST on Wednesday 5 September to admit or deny the charge, with the case to be heard the next day.
If found guilty, Fagan faces an automatic three-match suspension.
