Corradi's Parma loan switch

Corradi's Parma loan switchManchester City striker Bernardo Corradi has joined Parma on loan until the end of the season.

Corradi, 31, has not featured in any of Sven-Goran Eriksson's squads despite scoring twice in pre-season. He struggled to adapt after arriving from Valencia last July and scored three goals in 29 appearances.

Corradi returns to Italy to play for the side that managed to stay in the top flight last season after a late resurgence under then manager Claudio Ranieri.

the idea

After bringing in eight new players since arriving at Eastlands in July, manager Eriksson believes his squad is good enough to challenge for honours this season and insists he will splash the cash in January's window if necessary.

He said: "I'm very happy with the situation, we have the funds to do something in January if we need to. There has been a lot of talk about players coming in, but we have a good squad and a good team. I don't like the idea of taking in players just to make the numbers up. If we take players in, they have to make the team and the squad better.

"All the signings have been good signings, they have all shown that on the pitch but I know that the so-called project here is far from finished. There are the funds to bring in quality players in January, if we think we need it."
