The four Barclays Premier League clubs have discovered their opponents in the first phase of the Champions League.
Manchester United go up against AS Roma who they defeated 7-1 at Old Trafford in a quarter final match between the two sides last season. Sporting Lisbon and Dynamo Kiev complete the group.
Chelsea also face their quarter final opponents from last season, Valencia. The Blues defeated the Spaniards thanks to a late strike from Michael Essien at the Mestalla. They will also play Schalke and Rosenborg.
other entrants
Liverpool, last year's finalists, will face Porto, Marseille and Besiktas.
The Barclays Premier League's other entrants Arsenal have been pitted against the winner of the Sevilla versus AEK Athens qualifier. The match was due to be played this week but was postponed after the death of Antonio Puerta. The second-leg will be played on Monday. Sevilla lead 2-0 from the first-leg. Steaua Bucharest and Slavia Prague are Arsenal's other opponents.
The holders AC Milan have been placed with Benfica, Celtic and Shakhtar Donetsk. Real Madrid, meanwhile, face Werder Bremen, Lazio and Olympiakos.
