Adebayor: We are tougher

Emmanuel Adebayor believes Arsenal have become tough nuts to crack.



The Gunners have enjoyed a good start to the Barclays Premier League campaign with victories over Fulham and Manchester City so far.

Critics have described the London club as lacking the toughness needed for a title win in recent years but striker Adebayor reckons they are proving them wrong.

"A lot of players have learned that we have to fight hard to win games," said the 23-year-old. "We know people say 'they are kids and don't want to play as soon as we kick them'.

"But we stand up for it and we are ready for it. They call us kids but we are ready and we will be up for it. That is what the game asked for on Saturday. It was a difficult game. They played very well and defended very well but the boss told us to be patient and we kept going which is the important thing.

"All week people said they would defend well, play well and we would have to keep on going. I think the team have proved that we can score at any moment, whatever part of the game. That is very good for the confidence."
